Always free. Every Lisbon People Club group costs nothing to join. We never sell your number, never spam the chat, and never put ads inside the groups.

Can I join more than one group?

Most members belong to two or three. A remote worker who surfs at dawn might sit in Digital Nomads, Surf - Costa da Caparica, and Miradouro Sunset Social all at once - there's no limit on how many fit.

Question 4

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

Accepted Answer

No group grows past roughly 250 members, and moderators are active daily. Anyone dropping ads, crypto spam, or unrelated links gets removed on sight. It's built to stay a chat you actually open, not one you archive.

Question 5

I'm only in Lisbon for 5 days. Worth joining?

Five days is plenty of time to use Tourists - First Week. Expect a dinner invite before your jet lag wears off, an airport-pickup carpool if you land at an awkward hour, and locals pointing you past the miradouros every tour bus stops at.

I don't have WhatsApp. Another option?

Almost everyone here ends up on WhatsApp anyway - it's what the surf schools, tascas, and even some doctors use to confirm plans. Truly can't install it? Reach us through the contact page and we'll work something out.

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

Before you're added, you send one intro message: photo, first name, where you're from, the group you're after. Reports of harassment or scam behavior get someone removed the same day. Think of it as a friend vouching for a friend, not an open directory.

Long-term residents and travellers who believe nobody should have to face Lisbon on their own keep this running. What began as a single informal WhatsApp group has grown into the several communities we moderate today. It's a labor of love, not a company.
